Mane hails Anfield atmosphere – claims it improves performances

Sadio Mane has heaped praise on the atmosphere at Anfield on match days.

The famous old ground saw its capacity jump by 8,500 over the summer and the Senegal international is adamant it will make a difference this season.

“The atmosphere at Anfield helps us to play better. I’ve noticed that already,” he said. (Echo)

“We have some of the best fans in the world. The support they have given us in the two home games so far has helped us to become better and better.

“We have amazing fans and we want to give something back to them.”

We only managed to earn 32 points out of a possible 57 at Anfield in the 2015/16 season, but he says we can all expect a much better haul this term.

“This season will be different at Anfield,” he added.

Mane scored the third goal of the game in yesterday’s 5-1 drubbing of Hull City. Lallana and Milner had already put us 2-0 ahead when the £35 million summer signing found the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

The goal only serves to underline what a fantastic start to the season it’s been for him. He has already found the net three times in the league in just five appearances.

We are set to play three of our next five at Anfield in a run of games that could determine what rough position in the league we will be fighting for in May.
