Liverpool are better than Arsenal, says Hull City skipper who’s played both teams recently

Hull City captain Curtis Davies has commended the ruthlessness of Jurgen Klopp’s men after his side were thrashed 5-1 by the Reds at Anfield on Saturday.

Davies has claimed that Liverpool’s attacking style of play is far more demoralising than that of Arsenal, who beat his Hull side 4-1 last week.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “They didn’t give us a chance to breathe. Arsenal are a very good passing team, but a lot of their stuff is in front of you.”

“Last week against Arsenal, we had 10 men but it was a different performance. We were good.”

“We kept hold of the ball but Liverpool, with their pressing game, they weren’t going to be satisfied with 3-0. They wanted 6, 7, 8. That is the difference. Arsenal were like, ‘We will sit, we will let them have the ball and then we will have it for another five minutes.'”

The centre-back suffered on Saturday as part of a Hull defence completely disjointed by the movement and energy of Liverpool’s attacking stars.

He described just how difficult it was to defend against a set of players that very rarely remained in one position on the pitch.

He said: “It is hard to lay a glove on anyone. When there is so much inter-changing you cannot put your mark on one person. It is tough to make a tackle. One second Mane will be in that hole, then Lallana and then Coutinho.”

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with the impact his style of play is having on opposition teams and the way his side are beginning to punish their rivals.

Hull proved to be the victims of yet another breathtaking attacking display by Liverpool, who will now look to continue their good form away to Swansea next week.
