FSG confirm club are still planning to sell Main Stand naming rights

Ian Ayre has confirmed that Liverpool are still working towards selling the naming rights to the new Main Stand.

The 8,500 all-seater structure was finally completed a few weeks ago, taking Anfield’s capacity to just shy of 55,000.

Over the summer, it was suggested that we’d sell the naming rights, but we have not heard much about it since.

However, in an extensive interview with FC Business magazine (cited via Echo), our outgoing CEO Ian Ayre confirmed we are still planning to sell them, but we are in the process of finding the right deal for the club.

“The key is finding the right partner, brand and solution to fit. We are confident we will find the right partner in due course,” he said.

Naming rights have become the norm in the last decade after being ridiculed when the were first introduced. Liverpool, however, have never officially sold the naming rights to any of Anfield before.
