But his manager didn’t take him off until the hour mark, when he flatly couldn’t continue anymore due to the extent of his injury.

Blind admitted as much after the game, as explained by the founder of Dutch Kopites, Tom Maas.

Wijnaldum is due an assessment at Melwood later on today, according to ESPN correspondent Glenn Price.

It’s unlikely that Wijnaldum will be fit for the Manchester United clash and we suppose we don’t know the worsening extent of the problem due to the extra 15 minutes he played before eventually leaving the field for the Dutch.
Either way, it’s disappointing he wasn’t withdrawn after 45. In his place, expect Emre Can to come back into the lineup on Monday.
Now all we can do is hope the rest of Liverpool’s players return unscathed.
