Reds boss says football is easy for Daniel Sturridge most of the time

Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Daniel Sturridge and has no doubts over the strikers ability.

The Reds boss has been quick to defend his forward’s early season struggle and believes his slump in form is nothing to worry about.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “I think in this moment of course it is not easy for Dan. Most of the time in his life, football has been easy for him because he is so skilled. And he is still so skilled.”

“He cannot think about a moment like this where he has not scored in five or six games. I don’t care, it’s normal.”

“Daniel Sturridge is an outstanding player, there is no doubt about that.”

Sturridge made his 100th appearance for Liverpool against Manchester United on Monday night however struggled to have any real influence on the game.

Every striker suffers from a goal drought and a run of disappointing performances in their career and Sturridge is no exception.

He has been so prolific for us since moving to the club, that it is difficult to remember a time where he has been criticised so much for his displays in a Liverpool shirt.

Only injuries have stopped him from playing in the past- not his form. It’s for this reason that we need not worry at the moment and that we continue to support him.

He does make football look easy at times but right now he needs to find a way of not making it look so difficult. He never shies away from having the ball and is always looking to make a difference, though. We have to commend him for this.

One important thing, is that his manager still has faith in him.
