Adam Lallana believes his side picked up valuable points in the Premier League last week while putting an end to two poor head-to-head records in the process.
The midfielder believes Saturday’s 2-1 win over West Brom was vital and is also keen to take positives from what proved to be a disappointing goalless draw at home to Manchester United last Monday.
He told the Liverpool Echo: “It was important to back up Monday’s point (against Manchester United) with more here and we did that.”
“We had lost the last four before that against United and I think we hadn’t won in eight against a Tony Pulis side, so it’s been a very good week for us.”

Liverpool’s weekend win at home to West Brom was one of the more significant results of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Consistently beating teams from lower down in the division is something we must do in order to continue fighting at the top and Saturday’s result certainly went the right way about putting that in motion.
Putting an end to the poor team records that Lallana addresses is testament to this team’s growth under Klopp.
Though the results don’t necessarily catch the eye, they do represent a sense of progression.
We can be excited by the fact that there is more for this team to improve on.
