Current Spanish winger (8 caps) wants Liverpool move: ‘It would really suit me’

Sevilla and Spain winger Vitolo is pining after a future move to the Premier League, perhaps to Liverpool where he could link up with former team-mate Alberto Moreno.

The 27-year-old broke into his international team last season and has already bagged three times in eight appearances.

Liverpool fans will remember him best from the Europa League Final, where he formed a large part of an excellent Sevilla outfit who simply outplayed us in the second-half and retained the trophy, earning Champions League qualification in the process.

Despite this, the player has aspirations of one day moving to Merseyside.

“At some point in the future it would be really good for me to try playing in England,” he told the Daily Mail.

“Moreno tells me it would really suit me. Liverpool is a great club with a lot of history. One day I would like to try a league like the Premier League. Let’s see what happens.

“When I was a kid on the Canary Islands, we followed the fortunes of Manchester United and Liverpool. There are a lot of great teams in England!”

Vitolo can cover the left and right wing and is technically astute, although he doesn’t provide a regular enough end-product to be considered elite – and he’s very much a bracket down from the Spanish midfielders who’ve dominated the international scene for much of the past decade.

Still, if we could somehow acquire him cheaply in January, he’d fill the void left by AFCON-bound Sadio Mane perfectly – not that there’s any indication Jurgen Klopp’s interested.

Fans who don’t know much about Vitolo can check him out tonight; he’s likely to start for Spain against England at Wembley.
