Departing U23s boss pays tribute to incredible city and describes time in Liverpool as ‘best of his life’

Players and coaches saying farewell to the club is a sad time but it is also an exciting time given the future that lies ahead for them.

Liverpool’s U23s boss Michael Beale qualifies as one of those that deserves all the thanks and appreciation that he gets after doing such a great job with this club’s young stars.

Following last night’s 1-1 draw with West Brom, it was announced that Beale would be leaving his role at the club having agreed to become the assistant manager at Brazilian club Sao Paulo.

He quickly took to Instagram to show his appreciation for the people of Liverpool.

Beale has been crucial to helping develop many players across Liverpool’s youth system having overseen the U15 and U16 sides upon his arrival in 2012 before eventually moving up to the U23s in the summer of 2014.

This year has seen him coach plenty of future Reds stars such as Ben Woodburn, Ovie Ejaria, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin Stewart- all of which have made first team appearances this season.

He has been vital in helping to shape a talented group of young players and we only wish him the very best.

Best of luck for the future.
