Liverpool appear to close in on £25m signing as Klopp prepares ‘all-out assault’ on Premier League

Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes has been heavily linked to a move to Liverpool and it seems a serious offer is closer to being made with Jurgen Klopp reportedly stepping up his attempts to sign the forward.

The Mirror’s Neil Moxley has reported: “Liverpool will press ahead with the signing of Quincy Promes this month as Jurgen Klopp eyes an all-out assault on the Premier League title.”

Klopp is on the hunt for a solution to the loss of Sadio Mane’s pace and power after the Senegalese forward departed to compete in the African Cup of Nations.

Promes appears to fit that bill and has emerged as a name that just won’t go away as far as Liverpool’s rumoured transfer targets are concerned.

The 25-year-old has finished as his club’s top scorer in two out of the previous three seasons and possesses the attributes capable of offering the speed, directness and dynamic movement that Klopp desires.

It looks as though it will take a fee of around £25million to clinch the Dutchman’s services and the hefty fee alone will be key in recognising just how highly Klopp thinks of the player. He will not spend big money on a player he doesn’t value.

As expected, new Liverpool transfer rumours have sprung to life on a daily basis so far. This is certainly one of very few that we believe could happen.
