Pearce confirms Liverpool will move for brilliant three goal 20-year-old this summer

Finally, a transfer story we feel like we can believe in.

Jurgen Klopp will have had his main targets this month, there’s no doubt about it. It seems, however, that anyone he has actually been interested in signing have been out of reach for the time being.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt is one name that has popped up on more than one occasion this month, including today.

When asked whether he expected Liverpool to make a move for Brandt in the summer, the Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce confirmed: “Yes, I do. Klopp is a big fan and would have bought him in this window if Leverkusen had been willing to sell. Liverpool will be hoping that unlike Pulisic, Brandt doesn’t pen a new deal.”

There you go Reds, a genuine target it seems.

Brandt is a direct winger who is known to be great in one on one situations against defenders as well as having an eye for a pass. He has provided six assists so far this season and has been the subject of praise from German national team manager Joachim Low.

Another winger seems like the priority for Klopp with this Liverpool side currently suffering from a lack of strength in depth when it comes to wide players following Sadio Mane’s departure for the African Cup of Nations.

We sense Brandt won’t be the only upcoming star that Klopp looks to in the summer.
