Possible Liverpool XI v Wolves: Klopp will still rotate despite horrible January

Posted by

With a crunch Premier League clash with Chelsea on Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp will rotate his starting XI tomorrow, despite it being very important that we beat Wolves.

The Championship side are heading to Anfield for the FA Cup 4th Round, with Liverpool having won just one game (against Plymouth) the entire of January..

Jurgen Klopp will rest players though, meaning some youngsters will get game-time in what’s likely to be a mixed XI.

Loris Karius is the cup keeper, and Alberto Moreno is a shoe-in to come in at left-back. We can see Trent Alexander-Arnold’s continuing on the other side as Nathaniel Clyne isn’t fully fit. Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip is the first-choice centre-back pairing, meaning Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez could step in centrally.

Lucas could hold, allowing Jordan Henderson a rest before our rivals visit Anfield. Gini Wijnaldum didn’t play against Southampton so should come in, while we’re predicting Klopp will select Adam Lallana – the only central midfielder who provides us any real creativity. If not, he might go with Kevin Stewart, but that’s very defensive.

Divock Origi will definitely start centrally, while we’re going with the pace of Sheyi Ojo on the right. The spot on the left could be for Ovie Ejaria or Ben Woodburn, but since he’s been shining for the Under-23s, we reckon the Welsh starlet might get the nod.
