‘Stay cool and have fun’ urges Klopp as he previews exciting end to season for Liverpool

Saturday’s trip to Hull is now a more important game than last night’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea was.

It is the chance to prove that yesterday was a turning point following a dreadful month of results and that we are ready to reignite our season.

Tuesday’s display was a glimpse of what this team is capable of and this weekend’s difficult trip away to the Premier League’s bottom club promises to be an accurate insight into how we will finish the season.

Anfield was rocking last night with a spirited and resilient performance unearthing a belief amongst supporters that had somewhat faded away over the past few weeks.

Klopp has looked to remain positive heading into the rest of the campaign and is confident there is still a lot to play for.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “We need to learn to keep our nerve. If you [had] put us in a time machine and brought us 15 matches before the end in fourth position… ‘Come on, let’s play 15 games with all you have, with everything, full squad, go for it’, who would say ‘Oh no, please’?”

“Stay cool, that’s a season, a football season, we’ve worked really hard. As long as this club keeps the nerve and [then with] what kind of power we can create, it’s outstanding. Let’s stay cool and have a little bit of fun when you think about Liverpool and look ahead and, yes, nothing has been decided until now, but we have a chance.”

One point off of second place in the league after a supposedly horrific January puts things into perspective.

We are still in the mix and, with our squad getting back to full strength, definite contenders for a Champions League spot. Our January schedule was particularly hectic but we can now once again look ahead to longer breaks between games and the chance for the players to get their energy levels back up.

A single game can change everything in this league. Let’s hope that’s the case with us.
