Klopp can’t hide his disappointment as he opens up about Hull defeat

If one thing is certain, it’s that Jurgen Klopp is hurting after today and we feel his pain.

Frustrating, lacklustre, toothless are all applicable to how today’s game went and also when it comes to assessing Liverpool’s performance.

It was the kind of display that has come to be all too familiar for Reds fans and seemingly the manager as well.

We dominated possession throughout but were once again foiled by a strong and well organised Hull defence that allowed their forwards to pose a threat on the counter-attack.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “I have done four or five TV interviews, three or four radio interviews, and usually after a half an hour you feel better because you have no time to think about a lot of things after the game, and then you immediately start answering questions. But this time, it doesn’t feel better.”

“We expect more from ourselves and we have to show more than we did today. It is my responsibility to make it possible for the players to show more than we showed today. A few things, little, little explanations, you could see – a lack of rhythm in a few players and all that stuff.”

A Champions League spot is still within sight but our form of late means it looks as though it will take an incredible turnaround to secure a top four place at the end of the season.

The players simply can’t come up with an answer to their recent troubles and it is seriously worrying to see them play in such a contrasting manner to how they started the season.

There is only so many times we can say ‘onto the next one’, but it’s the attitude we have to continue with at the moment.
