Liverpool sent scouts to watch this 19-year-old Brazilian dribbler versus PSG at the weekend

Do you remember at the World Cup in 2014, when some of the Brazil squad had old-fashioned English names like ‘Fred’ or ‘Bernard’?

Well another one has turned up – Malcom – and he’s being linked to Liverpool!

At the weekend, we sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old prodigy, as did Manchester United, report ClubCall.

Malcom’s Bordeaux lost 3-0 and in fairness, the teenager didn’t do much and failed to pull off any mazy dribbles which he’s become known for.

This term though he’s showed serious promise for the French, scoring six goals in all competitions from a role as an inside right-forward. Malcom starts for Bordeaux, who signed him from Corinthians in his homeland in 2015.

Despite the fact he’s not yet 20, Malcom has racked up 95 professional appearances, 15 goals and has caps for Brazil’s Under-23s.

He’s a serious talent, and the kind of player Liverpool would target – given his potential to improve and age.

“For me, it’s not important which club and which championship I am in,” Malcom said after the game. “I want to play for a big club, in the Champions League and win it.”

Nothing wrong with that kind of ambition… We undoubtedly need wing enforcements in the summer, although Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt is our no.1 target, and we can’t see Jurgen Klopp going after another until the German prodigy is comprehensively ruled out.
