The reason Daniel Sturridge has flown home from Liverpool’s La Manga break is because his virus is a ‘contagious ting’, so he says!
Our English forward isn’t injured, but so that he doesn’t make the rest of the squad ill, Liverpool have decided it’s best to get him away from the group.
Probably quite smart, in truth.
Sturridge doesn’t seem too bothered either if this Instagram post is anything to go by.
‘Lil virus ting. Nothing crazy I’ll be training when the boys gets back. Contagious ting. No risk,’ he told the fans!
Thanks for clearing that up, Daniel.
The striker now has just over a week to get ready for our game with Leicester, although regardless of his health, he’s unlikely to start.
