Since his arrival on Merseyside, Jurgen Klopp is yet to sign a player who plies his trade in Spain.

They’ve gone with players outside the top two clubs, predominantly but have included four from Atletico Madrid, one of the best sides in Europe – based on the fact they’ve got to two of the past three Champions League finals.
Filipe Luis – Atletico Madrid – left-back
Diego Godin – Atletico Madrid – centre-back
Jose Gimenez – Atletico Madrid – centre-back
Yannick Carrasco – Atletico Madrid – playmaker
Inaki Williams – Athletic Bilbao – striker
Aymeric Laporte – Athletic Bilcao – centre-back
Jonathan Viera – Las Palmas – playmaker
Mattias Kranevitter – Sevilla – midfielder
Alex Berrnguer – Osasuna – fullback
Theo Hernandez – Alaves – fullback
There’s a few mighty exciting options on this list. Godin and Jimenez are wonderful defenders but would be unattainable, while we can’t see Luis fancying another go in the Premier League after failing last time.
Carrasco can play but he on’t be for sale either.
Laporte will be available, but we can’t see Liverpool spending £50m on a centre-half, but the likes of Viera, Kranevitter, Berrnguer and Hernandez will all be very much available.
Whether any of those four would automatically improve our starting XI is another matter, of course.
