(Video) Coutinho skill puts Barkley on his backside in move that sums up both men’s day

Now there was the Philippe Coutinho we all know and love.

Liverpool’s little magician was well and truly back and what a game in which to do so. The Everton youngsters that were thrown into the first team were unfortunate enough to catch the Brazilian on one of his better games for some time. He was unstoppable at times.

A week or two away with his national side seems to have done him the world of good and he now looks ready to pick up where he left off before the turn of the year. Ross Barkley became subject to Coutinho’s revival as he was fooled by the slightest of faints before finding himself getting up close and personal with the Anfield turf.

It was very much a day to forget for the England international as he was completely outclassed by Coutinho himself as well as the rest of Liverpool’s attacking force.

There were so many pleasing performances throughout the team but Coutinho’s perhaps stands out above the rest, simply because we’ve missed seeing him play with such confidence. All he needed was a moment of magic or two to spark him back into life and his stunning solo goal could well prove to be that.
