Klopp makes worrying admission on Sadio Mane situation

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, has been honest about his team’s predicament without Sadio Mane, claiming that there is nobody capable of directly replacing the Senegalese flyer.

The brilliant 24-year-old scored a fantastic goal against Everton on Saturday, but left the field injured in the second-half – and it’s sadly looking like a significant one.

We’ll find out the extent of the injury today but it’s possible we won’t see Mane again this season.

“We can cope with his absence (Mane) but we don’t have a one for one replacement. That is the truth and hopefully Daniel Sturridge can be available,” Klopp told the Echo.

“Trent was brought in (on Saturday), Ben Woodburn. If he’s injured (Mane) that it is not cool and that is why I don’t feel 100% happy. Now we have three days to find ‘the solution’ but we don’t have a one on one replacement.”

Mane has scored 13 Premier League goals this season, which is absolutely outstanding considering he starts on the right wing and doesn’t take penalties.

We missed him terribly during January when he was at the AFCON, but now, Divock Origi has a chance to step up.

The Belgian was terrific off the bench at the weekend and needs to maintain that level, as he’s a likely starter from now on – especially without Adam Lallana as well.
