Liverpool’s likely XI v Stoke will please supporters, considering injury crisis

We can’t see many changes from the side that agonisingly drew with Bournemouth for this one…

Simon Mignolet, who’s quietly enjoyed a good season, will start in goal. Loris Karius won’t feature again until pre-season bar an injury or suspension to the Belgian.

Joel Matip will surely come into the backline at the expense of Ragnar Klavan, which will delight fans. The Cameroonian wasn’t fit to start the Cherries clash, but came on for the final half hour and should be ok for the trip to the Britannia.

He’ll partner Dejan Lovren, with Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner at fullback.

The midfield will stay the same with Jordan Henderson still absent. This means Lucas will anchor after two consecutive, good performances, with Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum in box-to-box roles either side.

Coutinho was subbed off ill against Bournemouth, but we reckon he’ll start against the Potters despite being absent from Melwood. At this stage of the season, feeling unwell isn’t a good enough excuse – and the player will be desperate to play. Without Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi will continue.

Hopefully the Belgian will keep firing.
