Our friends at AnfieldHQ, one of the Liverpool fansites we rate the highest, are exclusively claiming that Jurgen Klopp likes Gremio striker Luan and could bring him in to replace Daniel Sturridge this summer.

The 24-year-old excelled for Brazil at the Olympics in 2016, but still plies his trade in his homeland for Lucas Leiva’s former club.

Luan isn’t a natural centre-forward as he drops deep and plays in wide areas, so in many respects, he’s similar to Roberto Firmino.

Klopp’s proven with his treatment of Christian Benteke and Sturridge that he doesn’t particularly rate stationary centre-forward and prefers fluid options who can interchange positions and play selflessly.

Lucas fits this mould, with the report suggesting a £30m bid would be enough to persuade the Brazilians to sell.

Personally, we’re sure we could get him for much less, considering Gabriel Jesus only cost Manchester City £27m.

Luan’s scored 12 goals this term, having bagged 17 last season – showing that he’s an accomplished goalscorer rather than a clinical one.

With the seemingly permanently injured Sturridge definitely on his way though, a forward more suited to Klopp’s stylistic demands may be the answer.
