Dejan Lovren will be a Liverpool player for the foreseeable future, with the club today announcing that the former Southampton centre-back has signed a lengthy new deal.
Suggestions are that he’ll now be paid a whopping £100k/week.
He joins Coutinho and Adam Lallana in renewing his terms this season and it’s clear Jurgen Klopp sees him as part of his squad going forward.

However, following his nightmare performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend, many Liverpool fans registered disappointment at the Croat’s extension.
We do not support this and believe that in the whole, Lovren’s been decent this term – but injuries have stunted him and his occasional mistake is magnified because of his horrible debut campaign in 2014/15.
Still, here’s what many Reds had to say:

@LFC Love Klopp but got to question his judgement here, talk about rewarding mediocrity #Lovren #AverageAtBest

@LewisLittlewood @LFC He’d still be playing far too much for my liking mate he’s garbage. One of the worst defenders to ever pull on the shirt IMO
