Liverpool slap price-tag on Andre Wisdom with view to summer clear-out

Liverpool will sell forgotten man Andre Wisdom this summer and want prospective buyers to cough up £4m for his services, reports the Echo.

The former England Under-21 captain still has two years left on his contract, but has spent the past three seasons out on loan at West Brom, Norwich and now Red Bull Salzburg, for whom he’s on the verge of clinching the Austrian title with.

Despite having racked up over 20 appearances this term, Liverpool see no future for the defender who’s about to turn 24.

He was very highly rated when he broke into Brendan Rodgers’ side back in 2012/13, but Wisdom’s development has stagnated and it doesn’t look like he’ll go on to reach the game’s highest level.

Derby County are interested, claim the report, and that seems like a sensible move for a player who’s been unable to find regular football for bottom-half Premier League clubs so far during his career.

If he does go on to make the switch, we wish him plenty of luck.
