(Video) A look at what rumoured LFC target Mo Salah is all about…

An apparent setback in Liverpool’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has sparked rumours suggesting the Reds are now keeping an eye on new targets.

Roma’s Mohamed Salah has emerged as the latest player Jurgen Klopp is considering turning his attention to, according to the Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe.

The 24-year-old was subject to interest from Brendan Rodgers during his time as Liverpool manager but opted for a move to Chelsea in 2014, only to struggle to cement a first team place, fall out of favour and eventually make the trip to Italy.

He has since impressed, though, and reminded everyone of the electric pace, agility and flair that granted him a chance to play in the Premier League in the first place.

Salah has reinvented himself at Roma and has enjoyed a productive 2016/2017 campaign,  scoring 13 goals and registering 10 assists so far this season. Liverpool’s notable lack of width and speed in Sunday’s lacklustre draw at home to Southampton somewhat explains the club’s reported interest in the Egyptian winger.

His expertise would bolster the different dimension Sadio Mane has added since his arrival and, in turn, help a manager who has suffered from a lack of alternative options at times this season. It may not be Salah himself in the end, but it is becoming clear what kind of player Liverpool are looking to recruit.

The following reminder of Salah’s talent suggests it would be well worth watching a foot race between himself and Mane…
