Jurgen Klopp has set the tone for the positive mood he wants from supporters ahead of Sunday’s decisive game with Middlesbrough.
Anfield will play stage to the Reds’ chance to fight off competition from Arsenal and secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
The German opted to refer back to a familiar phrase from early on in his Liverpool career as he called for his players to finish the job and achieve the target that was set at the beginning of the season.
“When I started here I said we had to change from doubters to believers and I think now we have a few days before the game, so look forward to it, be positive,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“If somebody comes to you and says ‘but if…’ – and that’s not the most used words in and around Liverpool – but if, then send him out, say ‘come on, go away, I don’t want to hear about it’.”
“There’s no reason for it. This team has shown so much this season and we will be ready for this game, and we should really be positive and try to enjoy the game. Maybe it’s nervy for the supporters around, but it’s the job to do, unfortunately.”
“I’m really looking forward to it and I could use this moment then to say ‘thank you’ for the outstanding atmospheres this season. Let’s go one more time and get the full package.”

It’s time for the fans to come together for one last time this season to drive their team on, just as it is time for the players to work tirelessly for one final 90 minutes and see the task through.
If those in red hold their nerve, trust in their own ability and stay composed, they should have no problem earning the three points they need. A chance to bring back the special European nights at Anfield beckons, as does the opportunity for Klopp’s long-term project to make significant progress.
