Liverpool didn’t wait around to add to Philippe Coutinho’s free kick with Adam Lallana finishing off an excellent counter attack shortly after to put the Reds 3-0 up against Middlesbrough.
The move, at one point, looked as though it had fizzled out before a loose ball found a way back to Lallana, who dragged it past the defender and slotted home calmly into the bottom corner from close range.
If nerves hadn’t been eased by Coutinho’s emphatic free kick, they certainly will have been by Liverpool’s third. Jurgen Klopp’s men now find themselves just under half an hour away from securing a place in the top four.
