Ojo turns 20 next month, meaning it’s undeniably time he plays regular first-team football.
The Newcastle Chronicle states that Rafa Benitez has included our youngster on his shortlist ahead of what’s going to be a big transfer window for the Magpies.
They do not state whether our former manager wants Ojo permanently or on loan, but we’d suggest a temporary deal is more likely.
For us, a loan move to Newcastle would make perfect sense. He’d hopefully earn significantly more minutes than he would on Merseyside, playing in front of a massive crowd and in the top flight to boot.
Benitez will improve him tactically, something Klopp’s criticised Ojo for in the past – and the winger could finally start fulfilling his serious potential.
