Mo Salah not the only Roma player Liverpool are bidding for, claims chairman

Liverpool are expected to wrap up a deal to bring Mo Salah to Anfield by the end of the week, reports the Telegraph, but could some of his team-mates follow him to Merseyside?

Roma’s chairman James Palotta has actually claimed the Salah deal isn’t as close as the English media are suggesting, while claiming Liverpool have bid for a number of his team’s best players.

“Is Salah going to Liverpool? For now there is nothing,” he told Sirius XM Radio, translated by the Metro.

“They continue to make offers for many of our players. If this is the case, three or four of our best players could leave.”

“We will see, but to improve we need four or five reinforcements because we are in the Champions League.”

We actually think Palotta is wrong about Salah, as every trusted source is adamant the £35m transfer will go through, but who could the other players Liverpool are interested in be?

Kostas Manolas is a superb central defender and could be an option if we fail to land Virgil Van Dijk, while Leandro Paredes, the Argentine holding midfielder, has been regularly linked in the past.

Radja Nainggolan is a world-class central midfielder, but would cost an outrageous sum and the fact he’s 29-years-old suggests he might not be the kind of player Liverpool traditionally chase.

Edin Dzeko bagged 29 Serie A goals last term, but we’re unlikely to be after the Bosnian for the same reason we’ll steer clear of Nainggolan.

Of the names listed above, Manolas seems the most likely, due to the fact we need enforcements at the back, but Palotta hints that we may have enquired about them all!
