Riise labels Liverpool ’embarrassing’ having previously asked for ambassador role

John Arne Riise explained the Virgil Van Dijk saga in the same manner every Liverpool fan has: Embarrassing.

Our former Norwegian centre-back held a Q&A on his Twitter today and was asked about his feelings towards the club’s botched attempts to seal the proposed £60m deal.

Riise also said he expects Daniel Sturridge to depart this summer, as the Englishman deserves more first-team football.

If Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have plans for him as a starter next term, we probably agree, sadly. Although Riise is adamant that he’d play for the German for nothing!
