Roma playing hard-ball with LFC over Salah deal

Liverpool’s pursuit of Mo Salah has stagnated, which is mighty frustrating for fans desperate to see us complete our first blockbuster deal of the summer.

We offered £28m roughly ten days ago, but the deal was rejected out of hand and according to the Echo, Roma actually want significantly more than the £35m originally mooted as a fair price.

Liverpool do not want to be held to ransom, so have yet to increase our offer to Roma, calling their bluff as the Italians have a hefty bill they must pay before July.

For now though, the Serie A giants rate Salah at closer to £42m, a fee that while hefty – isn’t ludicrous in the current market for a 24-year-old winger with 19 goals last season…

It’ll be interesting to see what line Jurgen Klopp takes, as internal buffoonery has already ruined Liverpool’s chances of signing Virgil van Dijk, meaning he’d be damned to miss out on his top offensive target as well.

Salah’s already agreed a £90k/week contract, so we’re sure that at some point later this month, the two parties will decide on a fair.
