Dominic Solanke has been giving a glowing endorsement by the man who managed him during his stint at Chelsea’s youth sides, Adi Viveash.
The coach worked with our new £3m signing (whose final price is still to be confirmed a compensation committee as his contract was up) during his brilliant 2013/14 campaign, in which he plundered over 40 goals.

Solanke won the Under-20 World Cup with England yesterday, winning the Golden Ball in the process, and fan excitement at the prospect of our new forward has gone through the roof.
Viveash suggests it’s warranted, comparing the teenager to a Premier League legend.
“He is a really good, solid lad who is very hard-working, very humble and very talented. I think he is going to have a very good career,” Viveash told Sky Sports.
“I have been very lucky as I have worked with some very talented players. But Dominic is right up there at the top of that list. He is an outstanding footballer. He’s intelligent and has great movement. He plays like a No 9 and a No 10 put together. Without being disrespectful, he reminds me of Teddy Sheringham but quicker.”
Solanke endured a difficult 2016/17 campaign, as Chelsea refused to let him leave on loan because of contract disputes, but now he has the chance to prove the Blues wrong at Anfield.
Under Jurgen Klopp, he’ll begin life behind Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi in the pecking order, but will know that if he works hard enough, the German will give chances.
Last term, Klopp gave Premier League debuts to Ben Woodburn, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria.
