Brazilian midfielder [20] heading to LFC after German disagreement

Liverpool’s talented young midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza, known simply as Allan, will head back to England for pre-season after we failed to agree terms of his loan extension with Hertha Berlin.

The Brazilian spent 2016/17 with the Bundesliga club, but wasn’t given many minutes and the Germans couldn’t promise that would change in 2017/18.

As a result, along with the fact they were not willing to stump up a considerable loan fee, means Liverpool will bring him to Merseyside and try to find a suitable borrower.

The 20-year-old though cannot stay with Jurgen Klopp’s first-team for the campaign, as he cannot yet get a work-permit and needs at least one more season playing in Europe to attain one.

He’s so far enjoyed spells in Finland, Belgium and Germany, but it remains to be seen where’s next on his European adventure.

Allan is very talented and possesses a sweet left-foot that can control proceedings from deep in midfield, but he’s physically weak at the moment and needs to baulk up before he can take on Premier League opponents.

After one more year, we’ll know if he has what it takes to make it at Liverpool.
