(Video) Remarkable statistic reiterates Mohamed Salah’s incredible pace

Sadio Mane could be about to face fierce competition for the title of Liverpool’s fastest player with the club closing in on a deal for Roma winger Mohamed Salah.

The prospect of the pair on either flank is enough to frighten any defence in the Premier League with Jurgen Klopp eyeing up Salah as a means in which to add more of the explosive pace and directness that saw Mane become a revelation in his first season at Anfield.

Latest reports have suggested a deal has been agreed to bring the Egyptian to Merseyside this summer with Liverpool set to break their £35million transfer record, paid to sign Andy Carroll in 2011, having had an initial £28million bid rejected.

Detailed analysis from beIN SPORTS has reaffirmed the incredible pace fans have become all too familiar with thanks to weeks of insight into what the former Chelsea man might offer the Reds.

Using a seven second 70 metre sprint from back in 2015, they have arrived at the belief Salah is capable of running 100 metres in under 10 seconds, thereby putting him amongst the top eight sprinters in the world.

An admittedly bold statement but also a welcomed reminder of what Liverpool are paying so much money for. The added bonus of Salah’s notable technical ability on the ball promises to make him a perfect fit to Klopp’s set up and an inspired attacking asset.

Mane needed only half a season to justify his hefty price-tag and Salah’s similar traits suggest he could well do the same under a manager that will get the best from him.
