PSG tried to snatch Liverpool’s highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder

PSG wanted to sign Ovie Ejaria two years ago before he transferred to Liverpool.

The 19-year-old was at Arsenal, but was released and available to join anybody, but decided on us over the Ligue 1 giants.

“We made an approach for Ovie two years ago, flat he didn’t want to leave England,” a PSG insider told allnigeriasoccer.com.

”The only issue with British players that we’ve approached is their unwillingness to leave England, but we are working on changing that trend with the new generation more open to  move abroad than the previous.”

Last term, following a string of impressive performances during the summer friendlies, Ejaria broke into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team consideration – making his debut and earning some rave reviews to boot.

He’s gangly, but backs up physicality with genuine technical ability – leading to some early comparisons to Paul Pogba!

This summer, he’s already won the Under-20 World Cup with England and is expected to tour again with Klopp’s senior side.

Liverpool are likely to bring in central midfield enforcements this transfer window, but with European competition confirmed for 2017/18, Ejaria could still get minutes – in the League Cup especially.
