Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress in his contract extension negotiations and there are a number of English clubs, including Liverpool, interested in his services.

What’s more, we’re as short as 2/1 with Sky Bet to win the race for The Ox, but they do suggest his remaining at Arsenal more likely.

According to the Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp is not put off by Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35m valuation and could move onto this pursuit once the Mo Salah deal is over the line.

The Egyptian winger is flying into England today to conclude a £39m deal from Roma.

Oxlade-Chamberlain prefers to play central midfield, but we’d assume it’s his versatility that appeals to Klopp. The England international proved he can play right wing-back for Arsenal towards the end of last season, and has done jobs advanced on the wing in the past.

Klopp plays three in midfield though, and it’s in one of the positions ahead of the anchorman that could suit him best if he were to transfer to Liverpool.
