Salah on why Liverpool are getting a much better deal than Chelsea did

Mohamed Salah feels he is in a far stronger position to succeed in the Premier League second time round after enduring a touch spell at Chelsea back in 2014.

Liverpool’s latest signing is keen to prove a point in England after signing for the Reds on a five-year deal late on Thursday.

The Egyptian made only 19 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge but has since taken Europe by storm, enjoying an impressive loan spell at Fiorentina before excelling in a strong Roma side for which he scored 34 goals and registered 18 assists in 81 appearances.

Salah is confident his new club are getting a far more accomplished player than Chelsea got three-and-a-half years ago.

“100 per cent, yes! Everything [has improved]. Even my personality was different, I was a kid – I was 20 or 21,” he told LFCTV.

“Now I’m four years older, everything is different. I have lots of experience in three clubs: I was at Chelsea, then Fiorentina and then Roma. I have good experience.”

“Even if I see myself playing very well in one thing, I try to improve to do it better and better. I always think about the small details because I need to improve more and more.”

Salah arrives having emerged a standout performer in one of Italy’s elite sides and as a player with an apparent personal motivation to not only make a name for himself in England’s top flight but to also win trophies with his new team.

What was an initially raw natural talent has been polished and moulded into a skill set capable of helping him become one of the most exciting forwards in the country. Matching traits to that of Sadio Mane mean he immediately improves an already frightening attacking force.

The thought of Salah and Mane on either wing promises to give countless opposing full-backs sleepless nights next season.
