LFC’s pre-season prep affected as striker picks up nasty injury

This is a big shame, although as of yet, there’s no word from the club as to the seriousness of Rhian Brewster’s injury.

Today, our 17-year-old striker uploaded these images to SnapChat, which show his foot in a cast and the message: ‘I will be back stronger’.

This kind of rhetoric is usually reserved for big injuries, so we’d predict Brewster will now miss pre-season, sadly.

The prodigal forward was set for a big role in the summer friendlies, with Jurgen Klopp always happy to blood young talent in these fixtures. Last year, Ben Woodburn, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria played regularly and broke into Liverpool’s first-team consideration – and we imagine Brewster was keen on doing the same, having made our bench towards the end of last season.

As it is, he’ll now have to focus on his recovery only and look forward to next term, where he’ll surely begin playing an integral role for our Under-23 side.
