LFC offer 7-cap Argentine €2.8m/year deal; €28m offer now required [Foot Mercato]

There’s transfer rumours we respect, some we’re dubious of and others we think are literally plucked from thin air.

This one likes in that latter category…

Foot Mercato are suggesting, very boldly, that Liverpool have already offered a contract to Atletico Madrid’s Argentine starlet Angel Correa that equates to €2.82m/year.

The 22-year-old though wants almost double that, and his Spanish club won’t consider doing a deal unless we cough up around €28m.

Correa is used as sub under Diego Simeone and although talented, is really not what we need at Anfield right now.

This summer we’ve signed Mo Salah and Dom Solanke to bolster the frontline and are now working on other areas of the team – most notably central midfield and central defence.

So take it from us, Foot Mercato appear to have conjured this story – which is even worse because invented figures to go along with it.
