Klopp repeats strange party line about Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool are repeating the same odd sentence when asked about Mamadou Sakho’s future, again and again.

When questioned if the centre-back could feature during this pre-season, Klopp told the Echo: “First of all he needs to get 100% fit and then we will see.”

In September last year, the manager said the same thing, despite Sakho spending the entire summer uploading training snaps of his continual fitness work – as he has this.

In 2016, Klopp claimed: “Of course he’s closer…. He’s still working, but being match fit is a big difference, that’s all.”

It’s abundantly clear though that Klopp has no intention of using Sakho and wants him out of the club at the nearest possible opportunity.

LFC’s summer transfer plans based on failure of Mario Balotelli…

Not only was he loaned to Crystal Palace last season despite our continual defensive problems, having not made a single match-day squad, but Liverpool have offered him to every club in Europe this time around – providing someone stumps up £30m.

The issue is not his fitness, and we’d be surprised if it was solely that Sakho missed a fitness test and was late for a flight. Whatever the issue is though, we’re not sure if we’ll hear about it until the Frenchman permanently leaves and speaks out – as the club are perhaps sensibly refusing to wash dirty laundry in public.
