Liverpool have launched a bid for teenage Argentine starlet Maxi Romero, claim World Football Index.
The 18-year-old plies his trade in his homeland for Vélez Sarsfield, where he’s a regular member of the first-team already.
The report suggests that Liverpool have decided to make a move after scouting the forward regularly over the past year.
He’s also interesting Arsenal, who had previously agreed to sign him before he did his cruciate ligaments as a 16-year-old, but now we’ve jumped to the front of the queue.
Romero is 5ft 9′, stocky and explosive – reminding us of once great Premier League forward Carlos Tevez…
You may recognise Romero from the Football Manager series, in which he turns into a world-class operator in various additions – not that this automatically means he will do in real life!
If we did acquire Romero, we’d expect him to be loaned out immediately in order to secure work permits.
