CONFIRMED: Liverpool complete their third signing of the summer

After months of speculation, Liverpool have finally completed the signing of Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson for a fee of £8million.

The Scotland international arrives as wise business with the Reds seemingly eyeing him up as a reliable long-term solution to their full-back situation.

Robertson follows Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke as the club’s third summer signing, and undoubtedly not the last.

The 23-year-old is expected to slot in as the immediate first choice left-back, although he won’t be without healthy competition given how impressive James Milner was in his make-shift role last season.

Though Klopp will be keen to shift his vice-captain back into a preferred midfield role, he will also be fully prepared to utilise him as part of the back four if he deems it necessary.

Completing the signing of Robertson suggests Alberto Moreno’s Liverpool departure is drawing closer, with the Spaniard having fallen out of favour after struggling to find any consistency since joining the club.

Discussing his dream move, Robertson told Liverpoolfc.com: “It feels a wee bit surreal just now. Obviously I’m delighted. There’s been a lot of speculation over the last couple of weeks but I’m glad that the deal’s finally been done and I’m a Liverpool player.”

“There’s not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me.”

Robertson will wear the No.26 shirt.
