Ex PL star: Mo Salah is a bad egg

Wind your neck in, lad…

Jermaine Jenas has suggested he’s been told by former Chelsea players that Mo Salah is a problematic character and bad player, reports the Express.

The former Spurs midfielder now works as a (rather decent, to be fair) pundit, and has claimed Liverpool’s £35m winger wasn’t rated by his former Premier League team-mates.

“Liverpool and Arsenal have done some decent business in the transfer market, and both Mohamed Salah and Alexandre Lacazette are very good players,” he told GQ magazine.

“But I remember speaking to a couple of Chelsea players about Salah, who spent a couple of years at Stamford Bridge, and they weren’t particularly impressed with him.

“He has obviously improved since and going on his pre-season performances he looks very sharp. Salah is definitely a good addition to the Liverpool squad, but not necessarily enough to bring them a top-four place.”

Since arriving at Liverpool, Salah has torn pre-season apart, settled in brilliantly into the city and club ethos and has received nothing but praise from management and team-mates.

The Salah who played for Chelsea was managed by Jose Mourinho, a manager who gave him no minutes and no opportunity to display his undeniable talent. Under Jurgen Klopp, this will simply not be the case.

We cannot wait to watch our Egyptian flyer make a mockery of those who’ve brandish him a ‘Chelsea flop’.
