Hoffenheim boss hints that LFC ‘played shit’

It seems that Hoffenheim’s manager Julian Nagelsmann pulls as few punches as Jurgen Klopp!

Liverpool’s boss got the better of his younger counterpart last night, earning us a 2-1 victory which makes us heavy favourites to progress into the Champions League Group Stages.

But the hosts had more of the ball, missed a penalty and had a goal ruled out for offside – and despite Liverpool dominating the second-half – it could have been a very different story.

Klopp suggested Liverpool let Hoffenheim have the ball at the back, conserving our energy so we could do them on the counter – but Nagelsmann suggested that this was false and that we just played… ‘shit’!

“I don’t agree,” countered Nagelsmann to the Guardian. “We had the ball in many important spaces. He has to say that and defend his team. He can’t say, ‘Hoffenheim played great and we were shit.’”

Hopefully, Klopp puts these quotes up on the dressing room wall and they motivate his players to finish the job in a week’s time…

Even a 1-0 defeat will see us go through on away goals, but we’d like to see us properly put the Germans to the sword and arrive in the Group Stages flowing with European confidence.
