LFC pre-season star wanted by Championship promotion contenders

Liverpool’s Ryan Kent has once again been linked to a move elsewhere with his immediate future still yet to have been decided.

The Reds winger was a standout performer during pre-season, turning heads with a number of bright performances having previously looked certain to be sent out on loan again.

Kent enjoyed a productive 2016/2017 season with Championship side Barnsley, making 44 appearances in the league, scoring three goals and registering one assist.

He has since returned to Merseyside with a notable ambition to make a name for himself under Jurgen Klopp, carrying himself well against a number of tough opponents throughout the summer.

Middlesbrough are now weighing up a move for the 20-year-old, viewing him as a possible replacement for Adama Traore, who looks set to leave the Riverside Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

Another loan move may well be a wise option for Kent, although the lack of orthodox wingers at Klopp’s disposal means he has every chance of breaking into the Liverpool first team at some point this season.

Opportunities for the likes of Ben Woodburn, Ovie Ejaria and Trent Alexander-Arnold will have given him the belief he will get the chance to shine at Anfield, thereby giving him a difficult decision to make.

A move to a team fighting for promotion to the Premier League such as Middlesbrough, however, would be a valuable platform on which to gain more experience.

After making such a positive impression, Kent has given Klopp a healthy dilemma.
