France boss happy for Lemar to have medical at training HQ… despite strict request

France national team manager Didier Deschamps will allow his players to have medicals at the team’s training headquarters, despite his strict transfer policy.

This could prove key for Liverpool, who have lodged a bid for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar worth around £60million but face a potential issue in the form of Deschamps requesting that his players decide their club future by today.

News of Liverpool’s bid for Lemar arrives on the same day that it was revealed the Reds had agreed a club-record deal in advance to sign RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita, who will officially join the club in July 2018.

A frustrating transfer window for the club is teasing signs of a frantic finish, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly still looking to strengthen his squad before Thursday’s deadline.

The Reds boss will get the chance to turn his focus back towards doing so, with club football having come to a temporary halt due to the latest international break.

After a week in which the club qualified for the Champions League group stages and cruised to a 4-0 league win over Arsenal, another major signing such as Lemar would top off an exciting period.

Brace yourselves for a big finish, Reds.
