Klopp plans £175m deadline day mega-raid that will stun football – Paul Joyce

This could be the greatest deadline day in the history of Liverpool Football Club…

Jurgen Klopp and the club are confident we can spend another £175m having already splashed out on Naby Keita this week.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been agreed at £35m, but more glamorous deals for Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk could follow.

Respected correspondent Paul Joyce claims in the Times broadsheet this morning (full transcript on Reddit)
that:

“Liverpool are prepared to pay more than £70 million for Lemar, the Monaco midfielder, and a similar fee for Van Dijk, the Southampton Centre Back, although both clubs have indicated that they do not want to sell.”

Importantly, money isn’t an issue for Liverpool and both players are desperate to join Jurgen Klopp’s revolution. They will surely have been buoyed by our start to the season and the ambition shown in securing world-class Keita for 2018, too.

Liverpool fans will be glued to Sky Sports now until the 11PM deadline, hoping we get at least one of the deals done.

In terms of outgoings, Divock Origi is joining Wolfsburg on loan, but Coutinho will not be joining Barcelona – despite their continued advances.
