Lemar flatly rejected £92m Arsenal; desperate for LFC & Klopp

Another player of immense pedigree who only has eyes for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp…

Thomas Lemar joins a list who’ve turned down our rivals in the hope we’ll buy them which includes Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – it’s just a crying shame only one of them has actually arrived this summer.

Arsenal yesterday lodged a British record £92m bid for Monaco’s wonderful young Frenchman, who subsequently scored two goals for his national side during the dying hours of the transfer window, but the attacker was not prepared for an Emirates switch.

Instead, Lemar wanted to join Klopp’s revolution and play Champions League football, but despite us lodging three huge bids the days previous, we decided against matching the £92m it would have required to do business.

Time will tell if this proves to be sensible, but on the basis of last night, Lemar is set to develop into one of the world’s best players – and at the going rate – £92m won’t seem so crazy in a few years’ time.

Still, there’s no obvious place for him in the starting lineup considering Coutinho will play left central-midfield and Sadio Mane left-wing.

For know, we understand Liverpool’s decision, but when a player as good as Lemar wants to sign, perhaps it’s sensible to get it done and ask questions later.
