LFC receive huge boost ahead of Sevilla clash

Mo Salah is likely to play against Sevilla this evening, despite being sent home from training last night because of illness.

The Egyptian had what’s believed to be a sore throat, but Jurgen Klopp doesn’t think it’ll keep him out of the crunch clash with the Spaniards, our first Champions League fixture of the season.

Klopp told the official website: “Most of them are looking really good apart from Clyney and Adam.

“Mo, we sent him home tonight, that’s right. He was in; Mo said he can train, the doc said he could train. But then I asked the doc what would be best for him and he said [it would be] if he doesn’t have to train because he has a little bit of a sore throat.

“It should not be that serious, so we sent him home so he cannot spread the virus, if it is a virus.

“In this moment we expect him back tomorrow morning for normal training.”

If Salah is available, Klopp is likely to select a front-three involving our new signing, Sadio Mane (whose suspensions only counts domestically) and Roberto Firmino.

This will enable returning Coutinho a start in midfield, meaning one of either Emre Can or Gini Wijnaldum will drop out.

Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also options – with Klopp already showing this season that he’s not scared of rotation.

In defence, Dejan Lovren will surely replace the calamitous Ragnar Klavan, while Andrew Robertson and Joe Gomez should come in for Alberto Moreno and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
