‘Liverpool a big club, super fans, stadium’ – Red hot striker discusses future move

Wouldn’t it be nice if we lined up a future deal for Rb Leipzig’s Timo Werner, now we’ve captured Naby Keita for 2018/19…?

The 21-year-old forward has three goals in the Bundesliga and bagged three more times for Germany during the international break – currently earning a spot in Joachim Loew’s starting XI ahead of the World Cup next summer.

He’s been heavily linked to Real Madrid as a result, but Liverpool have been keen for some time – although Jurgen Klopp refused to buy a striker due to Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Dominic Solanke already being at the club.

Werner is happy at Rb Leipzig, but has discussed potential future moves – naming the biggest clubs in England and Spain as potential options.

He also mentioned Keita’s switch to Anfield, and how his team-mates totally understand his decision to join Jurgen Klopp’s revolution.

“In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barça, Real and Atlético Madrid,” Werner told SportBild, translated by Sport Witness. “In England there’s more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.”

“There’s no anger to Keita. Liverpool is a big club with a great stadium and super fans, plus it’s a huge transfer.”

Werner would cost a similarly gargantuan sum, but for now, we really shouldn’t be worrying about the transfer window.

We brought in a few players during the summer and time will tell if Klopp got it right in the market.

For now, we just need to get behind the team.
