Barca paper publishes ludicrous €80m Coutinho story… (It’s honestly crazy)

Oh dear..

Barcelona mouthpiece Mundo Deportivo has published another quite insane story on Coutinho’s potential move to Spain.

This time, they’re claiming that Barca have REDUCED their offer to €80m outright (with €30m in add-ons) and hope that Liverpool will accept as soon as January arrives – even though we rejected the same offer just over a month ago..

Halfway through August, Barca offered €92m, roughly, with more than €30m in add-ons (Mirror)…

This is a summary of what journalist Fernando Polo has guffed out…

-Barcelona will make an offer of €80m plus €30m in future incentives at the beginning of January
-They will not meet Liverpool’s ‘barbaric €200m valuation
-The aim of the January deal is to boost Barca’s La Liga and Copa del Rey chances, so his new team-mates can pursue the Champions League with fresh legs
-Coutinho is still in direct contact with Barca players, especially Paulinho (who he knows from Brazil) and ex-Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez
-The player’s agents are still begging Liverpool to agree to sell and accept Barca’s current offer, as no higher one will be made

Ok, so here’s a list of reasons why this story is probably the most stupid we’ve read on Coutinho, which is saying something considering the multiple lies published during the summer.

-Why would Liverpool suddenly accept an offer they refused to acknowledge six weeks ago?
-Why would Liverpool change our minds halfway through a season?
-Why would we sell our best player before the Champions League knockout stages?
-Coutinho is playing well and has scored three goals in his past three games; he’s not unsettled
-Why do Barcelona believe we’ll give in to their ‘moral high-ground’ regarding Coutinho’s price-tag, when they just made €200m from Neymar?

There’s probably about 200 more reasons as to why we’re not going to sell Coutinho in January, but we’ve listed enough.

We urge Barcelona-fan-journos to find something else to write about. It’s October. Lay off until 2018 at least, for goodness sake.
