Bold Coutinho statement teases positive and negative outcome

Emre Can insists he has never come across anyone as gifted as Philippe Coutinho.

The German midfielder sung the praises of the Brazilian after selecting him as part of his Ultimate XI, in which Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo are also included.

Can’s appreciation of the playmaker’s talent serves as a reminder of not only how pivotal he could be in spearheading Liverpool’s efforts this season, but also how possible a move away from the club remains to be next summer.

“I never saw a talented player like him, he has everything,” Can told Liverpoolfc.com.

“On the ball he is just amazing. It is very difficult to play against him. He can score goals, he shoots very well. He can just do everything with the ball.”

Coutinho was strongly linked to a move during the most recent transfer window, with Barcelona having had three bids rejected by Liverpool.

The No.10 saw his transfer request have little impact on his position and, in truth, never came close to being allowed to leave.

For at least another season it seems, Jurgen Klopp has a man verging on reaching a world class level at his disposal. A man with the talent to help re-inspire Liverpool during a tough period.

To call him the most talented he’s seen is a strong statement from Can, but one that has to be respected simply for the somewhat unique traits Coutinho offers.
